Gain the confidence and understanding to perform the microblading procedure by training with the experts at DFW Microblading

DFW Microblading has been in business since 2014. The owner and master microblading artist, Rebecca Shelton, became interested in microblading when she had her own brows done. It sparked the curiosity to begin training to become an artist herself. After taking a 1 day course with the artist who did her own brows, she felt extremely unprepared and unskilled to be able to perform the procedure herself. She decided to take a second course, then a third… She quickly found that there just wasn’t many good training courses out there for microblading in the DFW area. Each course gave Rebecca bits and pieces to work with but none of them left her feeling fully confident in the skill. With this frustration, Rebecca decided to take everything she learned to curate her own microblading manual and began teaching herself. Years later, Rebecca has certified over 100 students.

What is Eyebrow Microblading?

Microblading is a more up and coming procedure that has begun to replace the traditional eyebrow tattoo. With a more manual approach, hairlike strokes are created to mimic the natural hair’s direction of growth. It is meant to be nearly undetected as permanent makeup and to enhance the look of the brows without them looking fake. Through the microblading course, you will learn the techniques and skills it takes to create natural looking strokes using a microblading hand tool. This procedure has dramatically changed appearances and brought youth back to many women.

The Buzz Around Microblading

Course Outline

Below are the topics that we will go over during the microblading training course. We wanna make sure you are prepared in every way possible when you receive your certification. We go over what it takes to market your business, proper microblading techniques, color theory and so much more. Click on each tab to learn more about each subject.

Definition of Microblading

It’s important to know what it is exactly that you are doing. When people ask “What is Microblading?”, you should have an educated answer to that question. We go in depth over what microblading actually is…and what it is not!

Bloodborne Pathogens, Safety, Sanitation and Sterilization

As part of your training, we will require you to take a Bloodborne Pathogens Certification as it is required by law to have when working in any environment where blood is involved.

We will go over all necessary cleaning and sterilization practices and teach you how to keep your work area clean and keep any soiled items out of the sight of the client. Your client’s comfort is the number one priority.

Who Can and Cannot be Microbladed

It is important to know who is eligible for microblading and who is not and the reasons why. The last thing you want is to have done the procedure on someone that was not in proper health or whose skin is in bad condition and have them heal incorrectly and be blamed for it.

Proper Communication to Client

There are certain words that we NEVER use when speaking to a client. We don’t “cut” into the skin…we make “passes” over the skin. Using words like cutting and slicing can cause the client to become uneasy. Learn the proper ways to talk to your client and how to have a proper consultation with them.

Eyebrow Stroke Patterns

There are three main stroke patterns that we will cover. Our goal is to teach you how to recognize which brow pattern a client has and to blend with their hair to create a brow that looks natural.

Tools and Equipment Overview

We will go over all of the equipment and tools that are used in the microblading procedure. It’s important to know the difference between different types of microblades, numbing agents and what is allowed legally in your office. We’ll give you a list of places online that you can purchase different tools, blades, shading needles, and anything you would need to perform the procedure. We’ve tried it all. Seriously. So rest assured that we’ve done careful research on the best products for the best prices.

Color Theory, Skin Tones and Pigment Choice

We will go over color theory and how to tell if a person is warm, cool or neutral toned. Pigment choice is extremely important in the outcome of a person’s brow results. We will show you how to correct a brow that has healed too cool or too warm.

Healing Process & Aftercare

Although everyone heals slightly differently, there are certain things that are expected in the healing process that you should be aware of and know how to properly prepare the client for. Knowing and understanding how skin heals is very important. When learning a person’s skin type, you will know what methods of aftercare will work best for your client.

Measuring the Brows

We will show you the proper ways to measure the brows and prep the skin for the microblading procedure. Measuring the eyebrows is half the battle and should not be taken lightly. Improper measurements can result in uneven brows and a very unhappy client.

The Procedure

You will have the chance to practice the procedure on fake skins as well as perform the procedure yourself on a live model. Our facility has multiple beds that you are able to rent at a daily rate to come and practice even after the class is finished. These beds can also be rented at a daily rate for use until you are able to rent your own salon suite. This gives you the ability to take your time and practice your skill without immediately committing to a rental agreement.

Licensing and Laws

In our course, we will go over the different licensing and laws that govern microblading and what you will need to know to be able to provide microblading as a service legally. Different states require different permits or licenses, so it’s important that if you are not from Texas, that you check with your state’s requirements to perform the microblading procedure.

Forums, Blogs, Advertising and Insurance

Once you have completed the training course, you will be added to our private facebook page for continued education. On this facebook page,  you can connect with all of the other students who have taken our course and further your knowledge of microblading. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and glean from the knowledge of the instructors and other students who are learning just as you are.

We will also help you learn how to market your business in a way that will get you more clients.

Lastly, we will explain what insurance plan you should have for your business and how to get it.
